I’m so sorry for your loss. I know it has been hard over the past few years, I pray you will find a way to cope with this great loss and try to remember the wonderful times you had together.  Many of my favorite childhood memories are because of your family.  Mr. Moyer was everything my Dad couldn’t be.  Lots of home improvement projects, fixing toys, running & playing, and then patient enough to let giggling girls have sleep-overs.  Mrs. Moyer, I know you lost your soul mate.  You were the perfect couple, and he will watch over you , the girls and the little ones, from heaven. While he waits for you, I’m sure he is helping the "original carpenter" with some home improvements. I’m sure he wouldn’t want you to be sad, instead be relieved he no longer suffering.  It’s gonna be hard for a long time and if there is anything I can do, please don’t hesitate to call (665-7346). Hope you don’t mind if I stop down some morning to say "hi" and I would Love to see Cheri again.   My Thoughts and Prayers are with You All, Linda (Miller) Hanna.

I would like to extend my deepest sympathy to all of you during your time of great sorrow.  I know that you do not know me, but I am a Pogo friend of Joanne. She is (jem) to me and I love her very much. May the Good Lord hold you very close and help you through this very difficult time.
With love and prayers, Daphne Browning (lad)

Joann, I am so sorry for your loss. I know you will find comfort knowing that God needed him in heaven, a place where we cannot even imagine the joy.
Cheri I remember your dad telling me how proud he was of you and the family you have created, how special you are to him, how much he loved you, and how fond he was of Mark. Cameron, Grant and Olivia I know you are aware of the love your grandfather has for you; and Heather I know your dad is always with you. This is what comes to mind when I think of Gerri, that is, that he showed those around him his love, and those who were blessed to have met him found comfort in knowing his kindness and his tender heart. He demonstrated Gods love by his commitment to show it through his care and concern of his friends, family and everyone he encountered. His sincere concern for others was apparent and his light shone bright while he walked on earth. Thank you for sharing him with me. He was one of two men that I have known in my life that epitomized what I would have wanted for a father. I believe I am a richer person for having had known him. Please know that I am here if you need anything, even if you need to rant, reflect, cry, or share any emotion or none. Also call me if you want some company.
He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.  Psalm 147:3

Dear Joanne and family,  Our deepest sympathy to you all.  Although we have been out of the area for many years, I have childhood memories of Gerald and you.  What stands out in my memory was his quiet humor and kindness, so much like his mother, my Aunt Ethel. You will certainly miss him, but know that he is at peace and in a better place.  Our love and prayers for you all.  May precious memories be a comfort to you.
Tom & Betty (Moyer) Wirt  Lewiston, Minnesota

I was maid of honor at your wedding 49 years ago, and it was an honor.  I will always remember Jere’s happy spirit and pleasant manner.  He always looked like he had some kind of mischief in mind behind that quiet manner of his, and usually did.
My sincerest sympathy to you Joanne, Cherie and children, and Heather. He was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather.
Love you,
Sister/Aunt Lois

Aunt Joanie, so sorry to hear of your loss.  You and the girls are in my thoughts and prayers.  It was so great to see you guys the last time I was at Kevin’s and now it means even more to me.  I can still remember when I was a kid and Mom and I came to visit you.  My strongest memory is of Uncle Jere taking me back into his room to show me a special rifle he had in his collection.  I always thought he was a really special man and so kind to take time to relate to me even when I was just a kid.  I will always remember his humorous smile that always seemed to be hiding just a hint of mischief.  May you and your entire family find comfort in the knowledge that God’s grace is upon you all and Uncle Jere has gone home.
All my love,
Bret Sylvester

Dear Joanne and Family,
My sincere sympathy in the loss of Gerald.  Gloria called me on 31 Aug to let me know of his passing.  It broke my heart. God had different plans for Gerald and called him home to abide with Him. I wish there was something I could say that would ease your loss and the pain you must be feeling.  You have been a good friend to me and I thank Gloria for introducing us.  For the longest time I thought jem was you name until she told me it was Joanne.  Please know that the love does go on, regardless of his absence in the physical sense.  One day you will meet again over that hillside, and walk hand-in-hand never to be separated again.  I share your loss and want you to know that my thoughts and prayers are with you and the family. Walk with God and keep Him ever unto you my dear friend.
Love, Mary Lee (aka lee from pogo)
