Gerda Gagliano, 91

Gerda Gagliano, 91, of Lancaster, died Thursday, February 6, 2014 at Conestoga View after a short illness. Born in Giesen, Germany she was the daughter of the late Karl Bernhard and Gertrud (Habeth) Lubbers. She was married to the late John S. Gagliano who passed away in 2002.
Gerda retired from ACME markets after many years as a cashier.
She was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church.
Gerda enjoyed traveling with her husband and family, spending time with her friends and holidays were special to her. She was a wonderful mother to her daughter who was also her favorite shopping partner.
She is survived by her daughter, Nina Eckert, wife of Barry W., of Lancaster and loving nieces, nephews and grandnieces and grandnephews from Reading and California. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother.
The family would like to thank the staff at Conestoga View for the compassion and the care extended to Gerda while she was there.
A viewing will be held from 9:30-10:30AM on Tuesday, February 11, 2014 at the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory, 414 E. King St, Lancaster, PA followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 11AM at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 501 E. Orange St, Lancaster, PA. Interment in St. Joseph New Catholic Cemetery. Flowers will be received or contributions in Gerda’s memory may be made to the church at the above address.
