Mary C. Crook, 89

Mary C. Crook, 89, of Lancaster passed away on Wednesday, September 17, 2014 at the Hospice & Community Care facility in Mount Joy. She was the daughter of the late Salvatore and Elvira (Adamante) Micciche. She was the wife of George W. Crook with whom she shared over 68 years of marriage.
Mary worked in the development shop as a parts maker at RCA, retiring in 1985 after more than 41 years of service. She volunteered at the LGH Health Campus for many years.
She was a member of St. John Neumann Catholic Church where she was a past member of the Silver Threads and the Guys & Dolls club. Mary also enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, reading, and traveling.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, George B. Crook, husband of Gail, of Palm Bay, FL; a daughter, Barbara A. Runyon, wife of Samuel D., of St. Thomas, PA. Also surviving are four grandchildren, one great-grandchild; a sister, M.J. Micciche and a brother, Salvatore C. Micciche, both of Lancaster. She was preceded in death by a sister, Rose Micciche, brother, Joseph Micciche and her granddaughter, Kristin Runyon.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11AM on Monday, September 29, 2014 at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 601 E. Delp Rd, Lancaster, PA 17601. Private Interment will be at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Mary’s memory to the Kristin Runyon Memorial Scholarship Fund, Summit Health Development Office, 785 5th Ave, Chambersburg, PA 17201.

I am so sorry to hear of Mary’s passing. I just found out tonight when I stopped in to visit Mary and George at Woodcrest Villa. I understand George moved away but I don’t know where and I would like to maintani contact with George. I have know him since the 1960’s. One of my favorite memory of my Aunt Mary is a movie that she, her sister Josie, and my mother, her sister, Rose, were “twisting the night away as 30 something Italian beautie! Now she and Rose are dancing together again!
