I am another one of the “large family of cousins” mentioned by Janice. Growing up as a young boy many years ago one of my greatest thrills was to visit the Hanley’s pool at their home in Pawtucket. A memorable high point was to see Donna hit the water swimming or diving. Her graceful athleticism astounded me, even to this day. While Daisy and I can’t be there, please know that we are with you all in spirit. God Bless.

Tom, Jeff, Scott, Kevin, Mary:
During my high school years, the Corcoran house on Pine Drive was like a second home to me. No matter what trouble we got ourselves into (quite a bit!), Mrs. C always welcomed me with open arms, and made me feel like one of the family. All of you did too. I’m sure all the friends who visited felt that way. I have many great memories of those times, many of them thanks to her hospitality and involvement in our lives. She was a great supporter of all we did, and I am grateful to have known her as the mother of some of my best friends, Tom and Jeff. My sincerest sympathies and condolences to all of you and your families, I know she will be dearly missed.

Donna was the matriarch of a large family of cousins. Many years ago when I was a little girl, Donna was my babysitter. As the younger cousin who looked up to her older cousin, I thought she was the kindest and most talented girl I had ever met in all my seven years of age. I remember especially when our grandmother Hanley took me to see Donna iceskate at the Rhode Island auditorium that I also knew she was the coolest of my cousins, as she spun around the ice doing figure eights, skating backwards, executing loops, spins and that most Olympic-sounding of jumps, what I now know is the Salchow. My mother, Alice, and my Aunt Mae loved Donna. She was the flower girl at their weddings who featured very prominently in our family picture books. With fond memories and in sympathy with Donna’s familiy.

My eympathy to Donna’s family. When I visited my oldest cousin in January and stayed at her home, she and I swatted 37 yellow jackets together without getting stung ourselves. She was the best hostess in the world. My prayers are with you all. I will be there for her funeral. Rev. Paul A.Charland of Coventry RI.
