Kenneth A. Cooper, 82

Kenneth A. Cooper, 83, died peacefully in his sleep on December 31, 2016, at Elderwood Senior Living, Lancaster. Born on August 19,1934, in Lancaster, PA, he was the son of the late Stanley J. and Nancy (Stewart) Cooper.
Kenneth lived his entire life in Lancaster and graduated from Lancaster Catholic High School, Class of 1952. He served in the United States Air Force from 1953 until 1957 and was awarded a Good Conduct Medal and a National Defense Service Medal. He was employed by RCA / Burle Industries for over 30 years, retiring in 1998.
He enjoyed following Notre Dame football and in his earlier years was an avid track walker and fitness buff. He was a lifelong member of St. Mary’s Church and attended mass daily at other Roman Catholic churches in the city.
One brother, Lawrence Cooper, Huntsville, Alabama survives him as do several nieces and nephews. Four brothers preceded him in death: Stanley, Herbert, Carl and Melvin Cooper.
A graveside service with Red Rose military honors will be held at 10AM, on Friday, January 6, 2016 at St. Mary’s Cemetery presiding. A memorial mass will be held for him at a date to be announced later. Donations in Kenneth’s name may be made to St. Mary’s Church, 119 S Prince St, Lancaster, PA 17603 or The Sacred Heart of Jesus Churches, 558 W Walnut St, Lancaster, PA 17603.
