Judith L. Schlegelmilch, 77

Judith L. Schlegelmilch, 77, of Ephrata, PA passed away Sunday, January 22, 2017 at Hospice & Community Care in Mt. Joy, PA. She was the wife of Nelson K. Schlegelmilch to whom she was married for 55 years.
Born in Philadelphia, PA she was a daughter of the late Walter and Florence L. (Muschert) Hall. Judy retired in 2004 after 25 years as an office clerk with Lancaster Newspapers and was a member of Akron Church of the Brethren. She volunteered at Ephrata Community Hospital and enjoyed crafts and attending craft shows with her husband, avid birdwatcher and fed the birds and squirrels around her home, loved animals, going to Knoebels, gardening and traveling to Potter and Perry Counties where they had a family camp. Judy most enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
In addition to her husband Nelson, she is survived by two sons Jeffrey N. Schlegelmilch, husband of Jennifer of Ephrata, PA and Jay W. Schlegelmilch, husband of Katie of Lititz, PA; four grandchildren Joshua, Jason, Luke and Amber Schlegelmilch; one sister Regina M. Ward of Ambler, PA.
Memorial services will be held Friday, January 27, 2017 at 12:00PM from Akron Church of the Brethren, 613 Main St. Akron, PA 17501. Interment will be private. A visitation will be held one hour prior to her service at the church.

Judy…I’m so sorry to read of your passing. I remember when we would ride the bus together…you to the newspaper office, and me to the Greist Building. We talked and laughed and I remember those times so well and with fond memories. Then I’d look for you at craft shows…sometimes I found you and sometimes I didn’t, but I was always thinking of you at those shows. May you rest in peace.
