Georgina Ruiz, 84

Georgina Ruiz, 84, of Mountville, passed away August 18, 2019 at Lancaster General Hospital. Born in San Sebastian, PR, she was the daughter of the late Jose Ruiz and America Santiago and the wife of the late Pedro Custodio.

Georgina was a devout Catholic, attending both Historic St. Mary’s Catholic Church and Iglesia Catolica San Juan Bautista and praying for the safety and well-being of her family daily. Georgina loved her family, especially her grandchildren. She cherished the time that she got to spend with them, whether they were staying in and watching novellas or going on road trips to the beach.

Georgina will be deeply missed by her three children; Olga Betancourt wife of the late Freddy Betancourt, Wilfredo Pratts husband of Ann Lebron, and Ruben Ortiz husband of the late Wilma Ortiz, her grandchildren; Samuel Betancourt, Vanessa Sheldon, Victoria Pratts, and Joanna Ramos, her great-grandchildren; Amaya Betancourt, Penelope Sheldon, Miles Sheldon, and Amia Ramos. She is also survived by her brother Jose Ruiz, and her sisters, Gloria Velez, Carmen Tapia, Lucilla Ruiz, and Awilda Ruiz, and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Jose and America, her husband Pedro, and her son Alfredo Ramos.

A Viewing will be held Tuesday, August 20, 2019 from 6:00 – 8:00pm at Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory located at 414 E. King St. Lancaster PA, 17602. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, August 21, 2019 at 11:00am at Iglesia Catolica San Juan Bautista located at 425 S Duke St, Lancaster, PA 17602. Guests will be received for a time of viewing at the church prior to Mass from 10:00-11:00am. Interment will follow services at Mellinger Mennonite Cemetery.
