Condolences to the Family

To Mark, Michelle and your families,
My name is Karen Myers and I am a nurse at Lititz Family Medicine where both Max and Lisette were patients. I managed Lisette’s Coumadin for a number of years and got to know Max as we worked together to keep Mom’s medication therapeutic. Max was one of the kindest, most gentle and loving people I have had the pleasure of working with.  After your mom passed I still had the pleasure of seeing Max on a regular basis when he came for his B12 shots. He was always gracious and appreciative of the littlest things. I regret I did not get a chance to say goodbye to him. I know he is happy, strong and with your mom skiing some heavenly slope. It was my privilege to say that I knew them both. God’s blessings on all of you.

Hello Family of Max Hausmann,
I am writing to express my sympathy to the family and friends of Max.  He was a wonderful person and an exemplary member (for many years) of the Lititz Rotary Club.  I serve as the secretary of Lititz Rotary and had numerous opportunites to interact with Max.  He was a great Rotarian. My only regret is that I did not have more time to spend with him.  One of my duties as secretary is to write a proclamation on behalf of the club in honor of Max.  As a somewhat younger member of Rotary, I am contacting our more senior members to give me some ideas of what Max’s background was so I can personalize the proclamation.  I would also encourage friends and family to contact me with for additional ideas that I can use for the proclamation.  It should not be very long as I am a bit restricted as to how much I can include.
Thank you very much.  You can contact me via email at tncclouse@hotmail.com.

Mark, I met you at Lititz Family Cupboard when you and your father were having breakfast one morning. I had been in Cape May, NJ for a short getaway since Thursday, and normally, I don’t go back through my newspapers, but I did this Sunday morning. I was very sad to see that your dear father had died on Wednesday. I got misty-eyed as I walked into church this morning and didn’t ask for a second bulletin for your dad. I have made certain for years that your father got to read what he missed almost every week when I attended. The last time I saw your father was on his 95th birthday. I took him a special birthday cupcake and card and spent time with him while he ate dinner. I was bold this morning in asking our pastors if I might have the white, long-stemmed rose that was at the altar to pay tribute to sweet Max. I will cherish it this week as I recall special memories over the years. I considered both of your parents some of the best people I have ever known. They touched my life.
With heartfelt sympathy to you and the rest of your family,
Deann Buffington
