Joseph Andrew Secora, Jr., 82, of Lancaster, passed away at his home on December 13, 2019. Born in Windber, PA he was the son of the late Helen and Joseph Andrew Secora Sr. and husband to Judith (Hess) Secora. He was formerly married to the late Dottie (Whatmore) Secora, who passed in 1983.
Joe was a veteran of the United States Air Force, serving from 1955 to 1962. He was a foundryman for Federal-Mogul. An incredible cook, Joe was known to make sure you never went hungry. Joe enjoyed spending outside tending to his garden and lawn, always holding its appearance to high standards. He also loved hunting and camping. Along with his family, he would go on camping trips to Shawnee Lake. He cherished time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Joe, who had lovingly earned the title of “Pappy” will be missed by his wife, Judith, his children; Melissa Secora and her husband Ray Ray Ruiz, Joseph Secora III, John Secora, and Kelly Mejias and her husband Juan, 11 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings; Loretta Kotch, Pamela Walker, and Jerry Secora, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his first wife Dottie, and brothers Steven and Johnny Secora.
Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the American Cancer Society at 314 Good Drive, Lancaster, PA 17603.
