Leon C. Beard, 70

Leon C. Beard, 70, of Lancaster, PA formerly of Avenel, NJ and Clinton, NC, passed away on Sunday, April 23, 2023. Born in Clinton, NC he was the son of the late Callie Sanders. He was the former husband to Evelyn (Thompson) Beard.
Leon was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching the NY Giants, and the NY Knicks. He also enjoyed playing chess. Most of all he cherished spending time with his family.
In addition to Evelyn, he is survived by his children: Nikiowana Beard of Lancaster, Leona Beard of Roselle, NJ, Odette Bailey and Nicole Proctor; 7 grandchildren; 3 brothers: Edward, Joseph and Jimmy Beard; sisters: Virginia Ann London and Johnnie Mae McCoy as well as several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his siblings: Donald Ray Beard and James Edward Beard.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
