John P. Scheuerman, Jr., 53
November 06, 2023
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved, John P. Scheuerman, Jr. (Johnny), who departed this life peacefully on Monday, November 6th, 2023. Johnny was born in Brooklyn, NY on December 1, 1969, and moved to Lancaster, PA in 1984. Throughout his life, the joy and love he shared with those around him left an indelible mark on whomever crossed his path.
Johnny attended Manheim Township High School and was a member of St. John Neumann Church. He loved spending time with his family, especially his brothers Tony and Tom.
Johnny was a talented artist who loved to share his art with his family. His drawings and paintings brighten any room and remain as a permanent memory of Johnny’s vibrant spirit. Johnny also had a passion for cars, and his face would light up whenever he spoke about his favorite models. Johnny’s other passions included listening to music, dancing, bowling, taking care of unusual pets, and being an all-around goofball. He adored his mom’s cooking and always looked forward to her homemade meals.
Despite the hardships Johnny faced throughout his life, he would always take every challenge in his stride. He overcame his lifelong battle with type 1 diabetes with unwavering courage by ensuring that it did not define his life. He was a warrior, through and through.
Above all else, Johnny will be remembered for his kindness and compassion. He never missed a single loved one’s birthday and would take every opportunity to tell his family that he loved them. He lit up each holiday meal with joy and laughter, and his smile held the warmth of a sun.
Johnny is survived by his parents Dee and John Viscardi; brothers Tony Scheuerman (Wendy) and Tom Scheuerman (Stacey); nephews Anthony, Jordon, Thomas, Dominick, Peyton, and Noah; nieces Victoria (Elijah Miller) and Alesha; and great-nephews Carson and Myles. He rejoins his biological father, John Scheuerman, Sr., and his sister, Angela Scheuerman.
Johnny’s family would like to thank Devita Dialysis, Lancaster General Hospital, Lancaster Nursing and Rehab, Hospice and Community Care of Lancaster, and all the compassionate doctors, nurses, and staff who worked with Johnny every day.
As we mourn the loss of Johnny, let us also celebrate the beautiful life he lived and the love he shared. He leaves behind cherished memories in the hearts of all who knew him.
A viewing will be held on Friday, November 10 from 5-8 PM at Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA 17543.
