Aileen Marie Chester, 41, of Alexandria, VA, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, April 5, 2024.

Born in Cape May Court House, NJ, she was the daughter of Anne Marie (Pirone) and John “Jack” Chester, Jr. Aileen was a beloved mother to her children Shelbie Frese and Connor Frese, a cherished cousin to Margaret “Honey” Condit and niece to Steve Corney. She was the longtime partner of David Baraghas.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents Margaret and Modestino Pirone, and Theresa and John Chester, Sr., as well as her favorite aunt Margaret Corney.

Aileen graduated from St. Margaret’s Episcopal High School in Tappahanock, VA.

Aileen had a variety of hobbies that brought her joy, including colonial reenactment, especially in Williamsburg, VA. She studied art and enjoyed calligraphy. She also enjoyed visiting the beaches of Hilton Head and Ocean City, NJ. Aileen enjoyed traveling and loved her visits to Spain and Portugal. Her favorite vacation, however, was a Caribbean cruise. An avid swimmer, she also treasured spending time with her family, especially her children.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30AM on Saturday, April 20, 2024 at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 601 E. Delp Road, Lancaster, PA 17601. Family and friends will be received from 10:30AM until the time of service. Inurnment will follow at Fernwood Cemetery, Philadelphia, PA, next to her beloved grandmother whom she adored.
