Judith Eileen Tshudy, 79

May 04, 2024

Judith Eileen “Judy” Tshudy, 79, of Little River, SC, and formerly of Lancaster, PA, Millsboro, DE, Boston, MA, and San Francisco, CA, passed away peacefully on a plane returning home from a 15-day Greece vacation on May 4, 2024. Born in Lancaster, PA, she was the daughter of the late Elwood J. and Virginia L. (Keiser) Tshudy.

Judy, committed to helping those in need, spent her life working as an RN until retirement. She enjoyed spending her time poolside, traveling, shopping, seeing live music, doing water aerobics, and dining out with her family and friends. Judy lived her life to the fullest and was always planning her next adventure. She always put those she loved before herself and despite not having any children of her own, she spent her life unconditionally loving the children in her family as her own. She will be sorely missed by all who knew her.

Judy is survived by her brother, Richard W. Tshudy and wife, Sharon, sister-in-law Susan Tshudy, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, E. Jerry Tshudy.

Services will be held at the convenience of the family.

I was shocked to hear of Judy’s death.  I was her co worker at The Waltham Hospital during her years in Massachusetts. She was a great nurse and will be greatly missed by all.  Many lost a dear friend.

Judy and Dee met in California where they worked as RNs in Mountainview. Little did they realize that it would become a lifelong friendship.  From CA they traveled Europe on “$5 a day.” When funds ran out, they returned to the States and settled in the Boston area working at the Waltham Hospital When Waltham closed, Judy returned to Lancaster PA eventually moving to Delaware. All the time Judy & Dee remained close. Judy eventually settled in SC and a few years later Dee and I also moved to SC.  Over the years we vacationed together numerous times including trips to St John, St Croix, Bonaire, Hawaii, and many of the National Parks out west.  Judy will truly be missed.

Judy was such a great person and great nurse. We had a group of fun-loving friends here in Massachusetts and have MANY fun memories. My first trip to Europe was with Judy. She was a real force of nature with a wonderful sense of humor. I am so very sad at this loss. My sympathy to her family and friends.

Dear Judy was one of the first people we met in our development. She was a kind soul and quite the character. She liked to call herself a “groupie” for a fantastic local group called The Formers.  She will be so dearly missed. Rest in Peace dear lady. 🙏❤️

Judy was a cherished friend, neighbor and pool buddy.  We spent many hours pool side enjoying the water and reading.  We would share and recommend books.  She was one of the water aerobic warriors and encouraged others to exercise and walk in the pool.  We had many laughs at game nights and luncheons.  Pool time will not be the same without her.  She talked to everyone at the pool and enjoyed engaging with the children.  She came to see me in the hospital after my surgery in March.  We spoke the week before her much anticipated trip to Greece and she was so excited.  Heaven has another angel.  Rest in Peace my friend.

Our deepest sympathies go out to the Tshudy family, and her extended family here in Little River, on the loss of Judy.
Judy was well liked and thought of here.  I got to know her from her likeness of the community pool while exercising and walking there.  She was always neatly situated at the corner table where we joined her.  She was very talkative and entertaining.  She did have a great fondness of Diet Coke, grapes, sweet cherries, and kiwi among other fruits.  Her presence and conversations will be greatly missed by all who came to know her when she was not engrossed in a book.  So glad she was able to experience her dream of going to Greece.Rest in Peace my friend, till we meet again.  God bless.
