Joseph “Joe” Charles Carroll, 81
June 11, 2024
Joseph “Joe” Charles Carroll, 81, of Lancaster, PA passed away on Tuesday, June 11, 2024 following complications from a long battle with Parkinson’s Disease.
Joe Carroll passed away, leaving behind a legacy of dedication, hard work, and love. Born in Havre De Grace, MD, he was the son of the late Joseph F. Carroll and Eleanor L. Snyder.
Growing up in Quarryville, Joe graduated from Solanco High School in 1961. He went on to earn an Associate degree in business from Franklin & Marshall College. His professional journey began at SICO oil company, then moved to State Equipment, Inc., and finally culminated at Town & Country Leasing, LLC, where he retired as Vice President of Finance in 2008. Joe’s commitment to his community was evident through his service on the board at the Bank of Lancaster County and the Lancaster YMCA.
In his spare time, Joe found joy in various activities and traditions. He cherished trips to the family cabin outside of Morris, PA, and visits to the boardwalk in Rehoboth Beach, DE, where he enjoyed Thrasher’s Fries and Fisher’s Popcorn. He also enjoyed annual trips to Florida to relax.
Joe was a loving, hardworking, and outgoing father who held a deep passion for sports and travel. He rarely missed his sons’ sporting events, demonstrating his unwavering support to his boys. Known for his famous blueberry pancakes, he ensured no one left the house hungry in the morning. Joe also dreamt of opening his very own Bed & Breakfast, a testament to his hospitable and caring nature.
Joe is survived by his loving wife, Sally (Quinn), his two children, Rob of Lancaster, PA and Ryan of Doylestown, PA, and 4 amazing grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brothers Barry, Dennis and Richard.
A Memorial Service to honor and remember Joe will be held at 4PM on Tuesday, June 25, 2024 at the Willow Valley Chapel, 2400 Willow Street Pike, Lancaster, PA 17602. Family and friends will be received from 3PM until the time of service. In lieu of flowers the family requests a donation be made in Joe’s honor to the Parkinson’s Foundation, www.parkinson.org or the City Center YMCA in Lancaster, PA, https://ymcalancaster.org/.
Joe’s memory will be cherished by all who knew him, and his legacy will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to be part of his life. His dedication to family, community, and the simple joys of life will be remembered with great fondness.

Knew Joe from the YMCA. He was a mentor to me and a roll model. Joe was a good man and friend. We often had lunch together wil Dick Bergan, his boss from Town & Country. He was just a “Good Man”. I will remember him in my daily prayers.
