John H. Bailey, 85

John H. Bailey, 85, of Lititz, PA, passed away on June 24, 2024.

He was the husband of Betsy A. Wolfskill Bailey, with whom he shared 41 years of marriage this past June 17th. Born in Florence, SC, he was the son of the late Monroe D. and Christine McLeod Bailey.

John had worked for Armstrong World Industries for 33 years, retiring in 1999 as the manager of global purchasing.

He graduated from Eastern New Mexico University in 1964.

John was an active and faithful member of Trinity United Church of Christ in East Petersburg, where he served as head usher, on Consistory, as an elder and trustee, and assisted with the food bank.

He loved to golf, being a part of “Pars or More”, a group of 40 friends that played at varied local courses over the years. He also enjoyed fishing, spending time with friends and family, and traveling to Stone Harbor.

In addition to his wife, Betsy, he is survived by a son, Gregory K. married to Kori Bailey of Brentwood, TN, his granddaughter Naomi, his six nieces and nephews and his son-in-law, Kevin Bishop. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Glenna Bishop, a son Jeffrey Bailey, a brother Joel Bailey Sr., and a sister Betty Jernigan.

Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions in his memory to Trinty United Church of Christ, 2340 State St., East Petersburg, PA 17520.

Lloyd and I are so sad to hear about our dear John. He perseviered through so many medical issues ,but was always cheerful. We are honored to know you both and to call you our friends.

My sincere sympathy to the family in the passing of Mr. Bailey.  He was a wonderful boss.  I’d not seen him for decades; he was a truly wonderful individual.  May peace be with you.
