Julie Nicole Grey, 31

July 31, 2024

Julie Nicole Grey, 31, of Elizabethtown, PA, passed away, unexpectedly, of natural causes, on Wednesday, July 31, 2024. Julie was born in Rockville, MD and raised in Elizabethtown, and the daughter of Thomas I. Grey, Jr. and Jill Grey (Odell).

She was a 2011 graduate of Elizabethtown Area High School and a 2016 Graduate of Eastern University, St. Davids, PA.

Julie had been employed by Faith Factory Learning Center, Mount Joy, PA for 5 years as well as part-time by Gretna Glen Camp, Lebanon, PA. She was a member of St. Paul’s Church, Elizabethtown where she had been involved with several young adult ministry groups. Julie had been a camper, since the age of 6, at Gretna Glen Camp and then as an adult was employed there as well as a volunteer.

Julie loved to play the guitar and sing, Broadway musicals, Geocaching and traveling to visit her friends in the Czech Republic. Julie touched the lives of so many with her kindness, generosity, joyful presence and sense of humor. Her sudden departure leaves a void in our hearts and she will be missed so very much.

She is survived by her parents, her sister Amanda K. Grey, as well as her Grandmother, Nancy Odell and loving extended family. She is predeceased by her Grandmother, Jean Sekelsky, Grandfather, Thomas I Grey and Grandfather, Harvey L. Odell.

To honor Julie’s life and celebrate her legacy, there will be a Memorial Service on Saturday, August 17th, 2024 at 3:00 PM, followed by a luncheon, at Saint Paul’s Church, Elizabethtown, PA. A visitation time will be from 1:00 pm until the time of the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Julie’s memory can be made to the Faith Factory Learning Center and Gretna Glen Camp and Retreat Center.

I’m saddened to learn of Julie’s passing. I was a fellow psych major at Eastern and also graduated in 2016. Julie was always a joy to be around. I always saw her with a smile and could always count on her for a laugh. There was one time we were working on our research papers in the library basement and she grabbed a golden orange post it note and made a star out of it and handed it to me. She said, “I’m proud of you for doing your work. Here’s a gold star.” I still have that post note, it is taped to my computer. My thoughts and prayers for peace and comfort are with the entire Grey family as you cope with your sudden loss.
