Robert Dennis “Bob” Zimmerman, 84

Robert Dennis “Bob” Zimmerman, 84, of Lititz, died peacefully on August 19, 2024, at his residence. Born in Harrisburg, he was the son of the late George Zimmerman and Geraldine Siders. Bob was the loving husband of Barbara Straining Zimmerman, and they were married for 65 years.

Bob founded Bob’s Market which is known today as Weiser’s Market. He attended Grace Church, Lititz. During his time at Grace Church, alongside his wife, they taught the 3-year-old class. Bob was an avid golfer.

Surviving in addition to his wife Barbara, is a son, Stephen D. (Shea) Zimmerman, a daughter, Denise (Eric) Buch, three grandchildren and one great grandchild. He is also survived by his siblings, George, Michael, Dale, Shirley and Bonnie. Bob was preceded in death by his daughter, Dana Zimmerman and two brothers, Ronald and Walton Zimmerman.

At Bob’s request services will be private. Interment will be in Longenecker’s Cemetery. Those desiring can send contributions in Bob’s name to Hospice & Community Care, 685 Good Drive, PO Box 4125, Lancaster 17604-4125 or Grace Church, 501 West Lincoln Avenue, Lititz, PA 17543.

I have such fond memories of Bob and if Bob’s Saverite! He was always there to great you and  make you smile! It was a home town store where if you forgot your checkbook they would let you take your groceries home and drop a check off later! He will be greatly missed! When we moved back to Lititz from Maryland, I couldn’t wait to get back to Bob’s.  Loved the people working there, Bob, Rose, Diane, Tom, Dave, and June, no other place like it.  Bob and Barb were two of the nicest people you could ever meet.  I’m so sorry for your loss.♥️

So sorry about bobs passing  I was 9th grade when our family came to Lancaster from York for my dads job at bobs market . That job enriched our lives tremendously . Bob was awesomely good to my dad  I pray comfort and blessings to barb and the family
