Craig R. Snyder, 72

Craig R. Snyder, 72, of Lititz, passed away at Lancaster General Hospital on Friday, November 15, 2024, with his loving family by his side. He shared 28 years of marriage with his wife Connie A. (McWilliams) Snyder.

Born in Lancaster to the late Therle R. Snyder, Sr. and Katherine C. (Brenner) Snyder, Craig graduated from Garden Spot High Scholl with the Class of 1970.

He served in the US Navy during the Vietnam War on board the USS Corry (DD-817), a Gearing-class destroyer. Craig achieved the rank of Gunners Mate (Guns) 2nd Class. Discharged in 1977, Craig worked many years as a welder for Case New Holland and later for Tait Towers.

He was an avid Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Flyers fan. Craig enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and riding his Harley Davidson.

Craig truly loved his family which includes his wife Connie, daughter Allison Buchanan, wife of Charles of Columbia, son Joshua Snyder of Lititz, stepdaughter Jamie Schucker, wife of Harold of Manheim, stepson Mark Dean of Northern Cambria, four grandchildren, Aislyn Buchanan, Isaiah Schucker, Brianna Schucker, and Elizabeth Dean, and his sisters Jane Carroll of Florida and Debbie Diem of New Holland.

In addition to his parents, Craig preceded in death by his brother Therle R. Snyder, Jr.

Following cremation, family and friends are invited to attend Craig’s graveside service on Wednesday, November 27, 2024, at 10 am with The Rev. Mark J. Thiboldeaux, Sr. officiating and Military Honors, at Kreutz Creek Cemetery, 4801 Pleasant Valley Road, York, PA 17406.

This is the day after Thanksgiving and I just found out about Craig’s passing. I want to express my deepest sympathies and condolences to you all . Craig was an awesome man and in the time I knew him is very special in my heart. Allison and Josh, your dad had a huge heart and loved you so very much and Connie, I am so glad Craig had you in his life. He deserved nothing but the best. May you all find comfort in your memories you made together.
