Dolores M. Bervinchak, 89
April 01, 2025
Dolores M. Bervinchak, 89, of Lancaster, passed away on April 1, 2025.She was the wife of James Bervinchak, with whom she would have shared 69 years of marriage this coming June 9th. Born in Minersville, PA, she was the daughter of the late Francis and Cecilia Stabinsky Tretter.
Dolores was a generous and welcoming homemaker. Her home was the hub of the neighborhood, always full of activity, friends, and good Polish food, like pierogies and halupki, as well as baked goods and whoopie pies. She loved sending handwritten notes, adding her personal caring touch to every occasion.
A true “Momma Bear”, she was the biggest fan of everyone she met. Whether you were the star or the underdog, you were family to her, and she cared deeply. Dolores was very devout in her Catholic faith, being a long-time member of St. Philip The Apostle Catholic Church. She had, in years past, worked at the former National Central Bank.
In addition to her husband, Jim, she is survived by her children: Deb of Chester, MD, Jude of Lancaster, Kevin married to Pam of Lancaster, Lisa married to Steve Love of Boalsburg, Donna of Lancaster and Greg of Lancaster and by her 4 beloved grandchildren Taylor, Kelsey, Krista, and Karly.

Mrs B had many gifts that she readily shared with all she met. One gift was that she really SAW you and remembered things about you. She then used her gift of affirmation to encourage, uplift and inspire you. She shared her beautiful smile and laughter easily. She was always gracious, kind and inclusive as well. No one was left out of her sight. She was a blessing to us and our now grown children. The world needs more people like her, but there will only be one Mrs B. She will be missed but never forgotten. Hugs and prayers to the Bervinchak family!

Dolores, what a dear, kind hearted friend. I was her neighbor and she always always treated me like one of her daughters. I loved talking to her about field hockey stuff and family things. One time she came over to watch my two children when i was in labor with my third child until my mom could get there, i loved her dearly! Her family is awesome, she loved her children with all her heart, thats all she talked about! I know this is hard for you family but just know that you are an awesome close knit family that she is always proud of. Every spring her daughters would plan a luncheon that they treated for us to all get together and spend time with Dolores, and they were always so nice!! You all are a special family! Love Kelly

Dear Bervinchaks,
I’m so sorry for your loss. Mrs. B. was such a kind hearted and caring person, and I was so blessed to have known her as a young man. She always treated me like family and made feel welcome, as did all of you. I know you will miss her deeply.
