Aida Victoria Mendez, 88, of Lancaster, passed away on April 26, 2024.
She was the wife of the late Juan Antonio Mendez, who passed away in 2008. Born in Lares, Puerto Rico, she was the daughter of the late Carmen Girau and Carmelo Mendez Tellado.
Aida had worked at Weaver Chicken, now known as Tyson Foods, for 20 years until her retirement. But her true joy came from cooking and taking care of her extended family. Her rice and beans, and steak were the best around.
She is survived by her sons: John Mendez married to Maria Angelica Diaz of Clearwater, FL Tayding “Ty” Axel Mendez, companion of Robert Jackson of Denver, PA and Luis Raul Mendez of Lancaster; her 6 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Aida is also survived by her siblings Rosita, Lydia, Blanca, Reyita, Victor, and Miriam.
She was preceded in death by her sons Perry and Michael Mendez and brother, Andre.
Friends and relatives are invited to gather and celebrate her life on Monday, April 29, 2024 from 2-4PM at the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory, 414 East King St., Lancaster, PA.
