Alexander “Alex” Retamar, 45

Alexander “Alex” Retamar, 45, of Columbia, Pa, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, February 4, 2022. He was born in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico, and raised in Lancaster, Pa. He attended J. P. McCaskey High School and was a man of many trades.
Alex had a contagious laugh that will be missed by all who knew him. His smile could lighten any room. He had an amazing sense of humor and a caring, loving heart. He cared deeply for his wife, parents, daughter, and granddaughter. He enjoyed watching TV, going to the beach, cheering for the Pittsburgh Steelers, and most importantly enjoyed being with family.
Alex will be sorely missed by his parents, Pedro R. Rodriguez and Isaura Marrero; his wife Maria Hernandez; daughter, Alexis Retamar; granddaughter, Scarlett Rosario; and siblings: Carmen Anderson married to Ken Anderson, Jose Retamar married to Marlene Retamar, Vanessa Retamar-Lopez married to Orlando Lopez, and Marilyn Retamar all of Lancaster; as well as countless aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
The viewing will be held at the Charles F. Snyder Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA 17543 on Sunday, February 13, 2022 from 5 PM– 7 PM and on Monday, February 14, 2022 from 10AM-11AM. Interment to follow at Mellinger Mennonite Cemetery. Family has asked that in lieu of flowers, donations can be made by calling the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory at (717)393-9661.
