Alfredo Arias, 77

Alfredo Arias, 77, of Lancaster, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on March 8, 2025. He was born in Guayaquil, Ecuador, to the late Moises and Yolanda Arias. Alfredo graduated from high school and went on to serve in the Ecuadorian Army, where he earned the title of Sergeant.

After moving to the United States, Alfredo worked as a taxi driver in New York City for many years before moving to Lancaster. Alfredo worked at Dart Container for many years and later as an operator at Richter Precision, where he dedicated nine years of hard work. He was known for his strong work ethic and unwavering devotion to his family.

A lover of tango which earn him the nickname “Tanguito” and fine wine, Alfredo cherished moments spent with family and friends, always opening the doors of his home to his community. He was an excellent swimmer, earning the nickname “Aqua Man,” and enjoyed traveling, visiting places such as Argentina, Dominican Republic, California, France, Italy and many other destinations. Alfredo was also renowned for his legendary cookouts, especially for his famous ribs.

Alfredo is survived by his beloved wife of 45 years Astromelia, his son Javier Arias, and his step-sons Hugo Garcia and Jimmy Garcia. He also leaves behind his devoted siblings and their spouses: Lila Arias (Luis ‘Flaco’ Vazquez), Raquel Arias (Osvaldo Soto), Mirta Arias (Doménico Berti), Priscila Arias (Raul Santiago), and Carlos Arias (Mercedes Veliz).

Alfredo was a cherished father-in-law, grandfather, uncle, and great-uncle, leaving behind many nieces, nephews, and grandchildren who will forever hold his memory close to their hearts.

Services will be held at the convenience of the family.

Alfredo Arias, de 77 años, de Lancaster, falleció rodeado de su amada familia el 8 de marzo de 2025. Nació en Guayaquil, Ecuador, hijo de Moisés y Yolanda Arias. Alfredo se graduó de la escuela secundaria y pasó a servir en el Ejército ecuatoriano, donde obtuvo el título de Sargento.

Después de mudarse a los Estados Unidos, Alfredo trabajó como taxista en la ciudad de Nueva York durante muchos años antes de mudarse para Lancaster donde trabajo por muchos años en Dart Container. Mas tarde después se convertio en operador en Richter Precision, donde dedicó nueve años de arduo trabajo. Era conocido por su fuerte ética de trabajo y su inquebrantable devoción a su familia.

Amante del tango, lo que le valió el apodo de “Tanguito” y del buen vino, Alfredo atesoraba los momentos que pasaba con su familia y amigos, siempre abriendo las puertas de su casa a su comunidad. Era un excelente nadador, lo que le valió el apodo de “Aqua Man”, y disfrutaba viajando, visitando lugares como Argentina, República Dominicana, California, Francia, Italia y muchos otros destinos. Alfredo también era famoso por sus legendarias comidas al aire libre, especialmente por sus famosas costillas.

A Alfredo le sobreviven su amada esposa de 45 años de matrimonio Astromelia, su hijo Javier Arias, y sus hijastros Hugo García y Jimmy García. También deja atrás a sus devotos hermanos(as) y cuñados(as): Lila Arias (Luis ‘Flaco’ Vázquez), Raquel Arias (Osvaldo Soto), Mirta Arias (Doménico Berti), Priscila Arias (Raúl Santiago) y Carlos Arias (Mercedes Veliz).

Alfredo fue un querido suegro, abuelo, tío y tío abuelo, dejando atrás a muchas sobrinas, sobrinos y nietos que siempre mantendrán su memoria cerca de sus corazones.

Los servicios se llevarán a cabo a conveniencia de la familia.
