Amos F. Miller, 91

Amos F. Miller, 91, passed away Friday, November 24, 2017 at Conestoga View Nursing & Rehabilitation. He was the loving husband of the late Marian L. (Pittenger) Miller and the son of the late Amos S. and Mary B. Miller.
Amos graduated from J. P. McCaskey High School, honorably served his country in the U.S. Army, and worked for Etter’s Floor Covering as a linoleum mechanic and carpenter. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, woodworking and ham radio.
Amos is survived by his children, Dyan Eisenberger and her husband Mark of Columbia, Randall Miller and his wife Pattie of New Providence, Joan Bastendorf of Lancaster, Janice Wiley of Quarryville, and Jill Harsh of Lancaster, as well as numerous grand-, great- and great-great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents and wife, he was predeceased by a son, Jack Gilbert and a daughter, Judith Slicer.
His family is grateful to his caregivers at Conestoga View, who referred to him as “Famous Amos”, and were blessed with his radiant smile.
Family and friend are invited to attend a Memorial Service which will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, December 2, 2017 at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 500 Pearl Street, Lancaster, PA 17603. Interment will follow at Clearfield United Methodist Church Cemetery, New Providence, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice & Community Care, 685 Good Drive, Lancaster, PA 17604

Condolences to the Family

I was Amos’ next door neighbor for many years. We shared much conversation, much of it quite humorous. Amos knew a lot about a lot of things and related entertaining stories about Lancaster’s past. I miss his honestty and good hearted humanity. Thank you my friend.
