Andrew R. Short, 81

August 1, 1942 - May 16, 2024

Andrew R. Short, 81, of Lancaster, was welcomed into the gates of heaven on May 16, 2024. He was born August 1, 1942, in Indianola, Mississippi to Leroy Sr. and Queen Ella (Franklin) Short.

He will be remembered for his many years at Armstrong World Industries. Following his retirement he ran Andrew Short Lawn Care, in Lancaster, for 20 years. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing and golfing.

Andrew will be missed by children, Rose Marie Short of Florida, Larry Short of Florida, Terry Short, husband of Barbara of Florida, Andrew Scott Selby, husband of Jessica of Lancaster, and Andrew Michael Short of Lancaster; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, and siblings, Ruth Mae Short of NY, Marilyn Short of MS, Luevenia Short of PA, Patricia Short of MS, Leroy Short Jr. of MS, Richard Short Sr. of MS, James Marty Short of MS, Clarence Short of MS, and Hercules Short of MS, as well as countless nieces and nephews. He was preceded in passing by his siblings, Doris Marie Moore, Betty Jean Johnson, and Robert Short Sr.

A Memorial Service honoring Andrew will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, June 1, 2024, at the Charles F. Snyder III Funeral Home & Crematory, 2421 Willow Street Pike, Willow Street, PA 17584. The family will receive guests from 10:30 AM. Memorial contributions in Andrew’s name may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
