Anna “Nancy” Beitzel Hall, 92
March 12, 1931 - February 25, 2024
Anna “Nancy” Beitzel Hall passed away peacefully in her sleep on February 25, 2024, at the age of 92 in Lancaster, PA. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Walter (2018). Born in Drexel Hill, PA on March 12, 1931, she was the daughter of Mary (Bickley) and George B. Beitzel. Nancy was the Salutatorian of her graduating class from Springfield High School (where she was known as Flashy Nancy Beitzel and inducted into the school’s Athletic Hall of Fame), Mt. Holyoke College (1953) and was a teacher at the Overbrook School for the Blind.
An accomplished pianist, Nancy loved music dearly, especially church hymns and classical music. She would often play gorgeous classical tunes on the piano, the notes filling our home with her love and joy. Nancy and Walter were active members of Covenant United Methodist Church, where they were married over 70 years ago (1953). Nancy treasured her time singing in the choir for 80+ years and playing in the Bell Choir.
Nancy loved nothing more than spending time baking, biking, skiing, traveling, and playing cards with her grandchildren. She and Walter were adventurous travelers who explored the world extensively; rarely as tourists, always trying to fit in as locals. Two places they traveled to often were Ocean City, NJ and Zermatt, Switzerland. These have become special places for the entire extended family to gather. Nancy’s love of the ocean and Alps filled her soul and will continue to inspire her family for generations.
Above all, Nancy was known for her strong faith, kindness, and service toward others. With a constant smile and positive attitude, she supported and volunteered for many outstanding social service organizations including Meals on Wheels, Simpson House, OneVillage Partners and the Philadelphia Orchestra. Nancy also took great joy in delivering her baked goods to friends who were elderly or sick.
Nancy is survived by her four children, Kathy (Tom) Overholt, Pete (Marta), Jeff (Margaret) and Doug (Michele), ten grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her devoted sister-in-law Anne Hall and predeceased in death by her loving husband Walter, brother Spike Beitzel, brothers-in-law Chuck and Tom Hall, and sisters-in-law Mary Lou Beitzel and Jeanne Hall.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Covenant United Methodist Church, 212 W. Springfield Road, Springfield, PA, 19064, at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 20, and preceded by a greeting hour with the family beginning at 10:00 a.m. All are welcome for a light lunch afterwards. Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to Covenant United Methodist Church Memorial Fund or OneVillagePartners.org.

Hello dear family of Nancy and Walter, I don’t know where to begin… your mother held a special place in my heart! She was such a beautiful lady, inside and out.. a woman of Grace! She conveyed so much patience as she encouraged and supported Walter as he went through therapy at Lakeside. It was a privilege and a blessing to know her! And she brought our therapy team such delicious cookies! Getting to know her sons and daughter and to meet some of her grandchildren was a joy! I wish I could see you all in Springfield but I have another commitment that day. I am sending my deepest condolences and love. Sincerely, Judy Jesiolowski

While I didn’t know you directly, I believe you couldn’t have raised a son as wonderful as Jeff, without being a wonderful person yourself!. My condolences to the family.
