Anthony Cunningham, 69

December 15, 2024

Anthony Cunningham (affectionately known as TC), 69, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, December 15, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. Born in North Tazewell, VA he was the son of Addie (Floyd) and the late Cornelius Cunningham.

Raised in Lancaster, PA Anthony was a man of simple joys and deep connections. Anthony was a proud veteran of the US Marines. He found happiness in camping adventures with his family, soulful melodies, indulging in crabs and good beer, and cheering passionately for the Philadelphia Eagles. A man of faith, Anthony attended Brightside Baptist Church and Ebenezer Baptist Church.

Anthony’s legacy lives on through his daughters, Tersia Johnson of Pittsburgh, Tara Miller of Hershey, and Amanda Cunningham of Lancaster and his longtime companion Ji Lee of Lancaster. He was the proud grandfather of Justin Lopez, Jhanaye Johnson, Donye Murrey, Khalir Murrey, Kemari Murrey, Kaydence Miller, and Tahlia Grant, and great grandchildren: Branden and Brendan Cowan.

Anthony is also survived by his siblings: Pearlene Arnold, Nettie Mae Miller-Cross, Cornelius Cunningham, Jr., Rosa Harris, Brenda Cunningham, Aaron Cunningham, Mary Cunningham, and Elijah Cunningham, as well as many nieces, nephews and lifelong friends. He is reunited in heaven with his grandson Jonathan Johnson and his sister Ellen Davidson.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Cunningham Club Store, 335 Dauphin St., Lancaster, PA 17602. A private inurnment will take place at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.

Anthony will be remembered for his warm smile, enduring love for his family, and zest for life. He will be deeply missed but fondly celebrated by all who knew him.

Condolences to the Family

December 30, 2024

I am a fellow graduate fom JP McCaskey Class of 1973.  “Bisquit” was a classmate of mine and I know his brothers, Cornelius and Aaron as well.  I remberber Tony as one of JP’s best wrestlers back in “the day.” He was always a kind person and though our paths crossed very infrequently after high school, his name came up often in conversation with friends.  I am sure that Heaven rejoices with his arrival. RIP my friend!! You will be missed, I am certain of that.

My sympathy and prayers to TC’s family and friends. I worked with TC for many years. We had a good time at work, but better times going out for wings and beers. He was a good man. May his soul rest in peace.
