Barbara Jean Hottenstein, 57
Barbara Jean Hottenstein, 57, of Lancaster, entered into rest at home on Friday, February 17, 2006.
Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Raymond F. “Jeep” and Elizabeth “Betty” Hottenstein.
Barbara worked as a key opener for Turkey Hill Dairies. She previously worked in retail management for Susie’s Casuals and Kinney Shoes, was a merchandiser for Rite Aid, was the former owner of The Stairway to Serenity Book Store, and was a certified nurses aide.
A 1966 graduate of Lancaster Catholic High School, she was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church. She enjoyed gardening, duck pin bowling at the St. Joe Club and Elks, and softball.
She will be sadly missed by her sisters, Joyce Ann Hottenstein of Lancaster; Carol M. married to Jack Kirsch of Chandler, AZ; brothers, Raymond F. “Beep” Hottenstein Jr. married to Susan L. of Ronks; Mark E. Hottenstein married to Kim; nieces, nephews, and her dog that she rescued, Ty Cole.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 501 E. Orange St., Lancaster, PA on Tuesday at 10AM. Interment will be private. Friends will be received at the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home Inc, 414 E. King St., Lancaster, PA on Monday from 6-8PM. The Rosary will be recited at 7:30PM. Flowers will be received or memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the Hospice of Lancaster County, 685 Good Dr., Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604-4125 or to the American Cancer Society, 314 Good Dr., Lancaster, PA 17603.
