Barbara M. Koppenhafer, 83

Barbara Moore Koppenhafer, 83, of Lancaster, passed away at home on Thursday, August 11, 2022. Born in West Chester, PA, she was the daughter of the late Robert E. and Elizabeth (Kehoe) Moore.

Barbara was a 1957 graduate of Villa Maria Academy and graduated in 1960 from Mercy Fitzgerald School of Nursing. She also earned a Bachelor’s from St. Joseph’s College of Maine and worked as a Registered Nurse for 40 years until her retirement in 2010. She was an active member of St. John Neumann Catholic Church, and participated in the Ski Club and the Bike Club in her spare time. She also enjoyed needlepoint and going on vacations with her family.

Barbara is survived by her daughters, Susan Koppenhafer of Lancaster, Ellen Dracoules (husband, Edward) of Lancaster, and Ann Koppenhafer Guba (husband, Anthony) of Laguna Niguel, CA.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. John Neumann, 601 E Delp Road, Lancaster, PA 17601 on Monday, August 22, 2022 at 11:00 AM. Friends and Family will be received at the church one hour prior at 10:00 AM. Interment will take place at Philadelphia Memorial Park, 124 Phoenixville Pike, Frazer, PA 19355 on Tuesday, August 23, 2022 at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network at www.pancan.org or 1500 Rosecrans Avenue, Ste 200, Manhattan Beach, CA 90266.

Barbara, you were my dear friend and I sure will miss our “cuppas” together, especially since you developed a taste for my favorite British tea! You were such an avid reader and we shared many great books. Thank you for starting the Book Club at Valleybrook, we will continue and always remember you fondly. Rest easy and know that you were loved. Susan, Ellen and Ann my love to you in this sad time.

Hi this is Kay,Your Mom’s cousin in Boston. Gosh, she will be so missed by Kevin and I. What a role model she was for me and my sister Peggy Rooney. She was fun,funny and a good person all around.Our thoughts are always with her. We are sad but now she’s smiling down from Heaven!
