Benita K. “Bea” Kauffman, 76

Benita K. “Bea” Kauffman, 76, of East Petersburg went home to be with her Lord on Tuesday, May 3, 2016 at Hospice & Community Care in Mt. Joy. Born in Towanda, PA she was the daughter of the late James E. and Lillian R. (Granger) Hoffman. She was married to Robert T. Kauffman for over 42 years.
Bea was a longtime member of Hempfield United Methodist Church and was a life member of East Petersburg Fire Company. The majority of her working life was spent in the medical field and she retired in December 2014 from Lancaster Physicians for Women.
Bea loved cooking, cleaning, reading, walking with Bob and decorating her home for every season, but more than anything else, she was devoted to and loved her family.
Bea is survived by her 4 children: Denise L. Waller (Rick) of Strasburg, James N. Leaman (Donna) of Manheim, Michael K. Leaman (Tammy) of Manheim, and Richard D. Kauffman (Michelle) of Lancaster; 7 grandchildren: Stephanie Eshleman (Gregory), Ryan, Jennifer, Matthew, Joshua, Austin, and Skylar; 4 great-grandchildren: Chase, Mariah, Kelsey, and McKenna. She is also survived by her sister, Becky Blessing (George) of Newville, PA. She is preceded in death by her granddaughter, Katie Waller; brother, James Hoffman, and stepmother, Geraldine Hoffman.
A Celebration of Bea’s Life will be held at 11AM, Saturday, May 14, 2016 at the Hempfield United Methodist Church, 3050 Marietta Avenue, Lancaster, PA 17601. Friends will be received one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Private interment will take place at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Bea’s memory may be made to Hospice and Community Care, PO Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604-4125 or Hempfield United Methodist Church at the above address.

I am so sorry for your loss. I really enjoyed working with Bea, she always made me smile…and laugh! When I was feeling down, this wonderful lady would bring me back up with her kind words and smile. Heaven has gained a wonderful, loving angel in Bea. Know that she is smiling down on you Bob, and thanking you for all your support and love you have shown her over the years. RIP Bea. xo
