Betty was my sister-in-law. I was married to her brother (John Sheaffer). Betty was a very kind, caring, compassionate sister with a great sense of humor. We always enjoyed our visits and catching up on the latest news. She always sent us/me beautiful cards for all the holiday. She loved being a crossing guard & helping the children cross safely. She also brought joy to many people, especially her wonderful sisters Sally & Lynn. Sally & Lynn were always there to assist her & she enjoyed spending that time together. Betty also talked about her daughter Lori, grandchildren & other family members. She will be sadly missed by all who loved her. Much love Betty until we all meet again. God Bless Ginny S.

I’ve lived on North Oak Street in Lititz for over 20 years and Betty the Crossing Guard was an institution! We must have waved to each other thousands of times, not even knowing each other’s names. It was visibly apparent how much she loved the kids and keeping them safe. She certainly touch a lot of lives and will always be remembered!

Betty was a bright, waving, smiling spot to my morning every school day for 18 years as she stood at Rome Road and Oak Street. She had a smile and a wave for everyone and she LOVED the children. Her little treats and costumes were above and beyond and she has been missed since she retired. So saddened to hear of her passing – but I know that she is in heaven, smiling and waving to us all. My sympathies to her family.
