Condolences to the Family

I was so sorry to read about Mrs. Phelan in the paper last night. I have many fond memories of her (and the family) from when we lived across the street in Grand Island. I especially remember Mrs. Phelan giving me my first job – taking care of Spitz, or maybe it was Spits, while the family went on vacation. I loved that cat and especially the fact that she trusted me enough to take care of him. She was a wonderful person and I can still hear her laugh. My sympathies are with all of you. Sincerely, Heather (Kaliff) Derr

I just read in the Grand Island paper that Betty passed away. This saddened me very much but also brought back many great memories that I had playing post office downstairs at their house on garland street in grand island with Janet. We had many other fun times in the neighborhood planning our little parades and filling up water balloons. I lived just a few houses down on LaMar. I also remember when she made spaghetti with meatballs and we would put on our bibs and John showed me how to roll the spaghetti on my fork against my spoon lol. Such wonderful people that were a large part of my childhood. I’m so very sorry for your loss. My prayers are with you, Janet, and the rest of your family. God Bless. Lori (Schroeder) Patsios.
