Betty Lou Mellinger, 77

Betty Lou Mellinger, 77, of Millersville and formerly of Lancaster, passed away on Saturday, March 2, 2019.
She was the wife of Kenneth W. Mellinger, with whom she shared 60 years of marriage this past August 30th. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Harry P. and Anna A. Hoffheinz.
Betty Lou had worked for 31 years as the office administrator for Design Data Corporation. She had also worked in years past for Hamilton Watch.
She was of the Catholic faith.
Betty Lou loved to bake, loved her sweets and made great fudge. She enjoyed reading, playing cards, and loved being in the pool every day during the summertime. She also loved her dogs but her greatest treasure was spending time with her family, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children: Kim M. Keller and Luanne L. married to David “Dusty” Sweigart, both of Lancaster, Lisa L. married to Fred C. Thomas of Millersville, Kenneth M. married to Lorraine A. Mellinger of Willow Street, Kathy A. Oberholtzer of Leola, and Melissa J. married to Mark D. Clark of Columbia; her 16 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren, her sister Shirley Frey of Lancaster, and her dog, Mandy. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Ann and Cecilia, and her brother, Pete.
Friends will be received on Friday, March 8, 2019 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 119 S. Prince St., Lancaster, PA from 9-10AM, with the Mass to follow at 10AM. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions in Betty Lou’s memory to Hospice & Community Care, 685 Good Drive, Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604-4125

So sorry to hear of Betty Lou’s passing. I worked with both Betty Lou & Lisa at Hamilton.. . Betty Lou was a pure joy to work with. She’s at peace now….thoughts & prayers for all.
