Betty W. Heisey, 93
December 11, 2020
Betty W. Heisey – Our Beloved Mom, Betty, Ma, Maw – of Lancaster, PA, peacefully went home to Jesus, Her Lord and Savior, on Friday, December 11, 2020.
Mom was born November 14, 1927 in Lancaster, PA, to William W. and Cora P. Nixdorf Wallace.
She retired from Federal Mogul in 1993 as a Production Worker after 14 Years. Prior to that Mom was employed at the former Schick Inc. for 24 Years.
Betty was a member of Grace Evangelical Congregational Church, East Petersburg, PA.
Mom was very ‘crafty,’ doing cross stitch pictures over the years for many people, and giving them as gifts. From Christmas ornaments, baby blankets, hats for preemies, afghans, scarves, hats, capes, and many more. She gave of herself to so many people, as well as winning many ribbons at craft fairs.
Mom also wrote poetry, as well as having volunteered for the Office of Aging for many years.
She enjoyed Big Band Music, and loved the singer, Al Martino. She came to know him personally, and, when he passed away, she traveled to his funeral held in Philadelphia, getting lost, and that trip is a whole nother story!
Mom is survived by her four children, Pamela Wilson, John Heisey, Jr., Deborah Heisey, Cindy Grimm (Wife of Don, whom Ma often said was like one of her kids), five grandchildren, and many great and great-great grandchildren. She was predeceased by six brothers and three sisters.
The Funeral Service is private but the family invites friends to attend the graveside services at Voganville Union Cemetery, 335 Wissler Rd., New Holland, PA on Friday, December 18, 2020 at 11:30AM.
Please Omit Flowers, and consider a contribution in memory of our Mom to Grace E. C. Church, 6067 Carpenter St., East Petersburg, PA 17520.

Prayers for the Heisey family. While I didn’t know Betty well, I felt as though I did due to her friendship with my mother, Gini-Ann Scott and will never forget the kindness she showed to her. Our family treasures the needlepoint that she made based on a photo of our children. Betty’s kind, generous, caring spirit will always be remembered. Sincerely, Jenny Lee

My Dear Cousins, My condolences to you all and your families. Aunt Betty always made me laugh. She was so witty and I was close with her when she and my Mom lived together. But due to illnesses through the years, I became homebound , but I never will forget the fun times I had with Aunt Betty. She hung in there and lived a beautiful life. I loved her and my love and prayers are with you all also. I will never forget the times that we had together. Aunt Betty was a really cool Aunt. You all take care and pray all the time. That will help you.

We were saddened to learn of your mother’s passing. She was a very special lady and a good and kind friend to our mother and mother-in-law, Ginnie Bauer, when she lived at Valleybrook. She always had time to talk or share her crafts and wisdom. She will be missed but remembered fondly. This news came while we are still dealing with Ginnie’s passing on November 1. Our thoughts and prayers are with you as you mourn your loss, but hope you have peace in knowing that your mother touched many lives and will live on in those lives. Sincerely, Richard and Bernadette Bauer

Its been almost 16 yrs since I worked as a bank teller in Manheim twp. I was a young twenty-something, with a young family, preparing to buy our first house. For years, Betty’s handmade doilies have adorned my side tables and windowsills. I suppose they would have been a “just because”,or likely a christmas present. At this point i could not have told you her name until I saw her picture here. How neat to once again remember. I remember well her soft, kind and thoughtful demeanor.
Heisey family- you were blessed to have her as yours.
