Brian Keith Rhoades, 46
May 3, 1967 - October 15, 2013
Brian Keith Rhoades, 46, of Lancaster, passed away on Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at Hospice & Community Care, Mount Joy. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of Donald and Dorothy (Grube) Rhoades. Brian was the loving husband of Jennifer (Stauffer) Rhoades.
Brian was a 1987 graduate of Manheim Township High School. He worked for 26 years in the kitchen at Lancashire Terrace Retirement Community. Brian was a huge Philadelphia Flyers fan, Phillies and Chicago Bears fan. He enjoyed playing street hockey, fishing and going to the mountains and beach. Everyone loved Brian for his heart of gold, his big beautiful smile and the way he made you laugh.
Surviving in addition to his wife and parents are step-children: Nicholas Slater of Chester, MD and Kelly Slater of Lancaster, PA; and a sister, Julie Heller of Willow Street, PA. Brian was a wonderful grandfather to his step-grandson, Vincent Slater.
A viewing will be held from 7-9 PM on Monday, October 21, 2013 at the Charles F. Snyder, Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA 17543. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:30 AM on Tuesday, October 22, 2013 at St. Edward’s Episcopal Church, 2453 Harrisburg Pike, Lancaster, PA 17601. Interment will be at Brunnerville United Methodist Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Brian’s memory to Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, 500 University Dr., Hershey, PA 17033 or to the Humane League of Lancaster County, 2195 Lincoln Highway East, Lancaster, PA 17602. I am sorry to have hear of Brian’s passing. I have only spent a short time knowing Brian with spending time w/his friends. Compassion, caring and always smiling brings the fondess memories I have of Brian.

Jennifer, Richard and I are so sorry to read about Brian’s passing. He was a fine young man and Richard has many fond memories of working with him at Lancashire Terrace. He was a great worker but more importantly was his wonderful disposition and smile. You can be proud to say you are his wife.
