Bruce L. Hubbs, 78
April 19, 2025
Bruce L. Hubbs, 78, of Lancaster, PA, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, April 19, 2025.
Born and raised in Lancaster, Bruce was the son of the late Elfrieda (Brown) and Calvin Hubbs. He was the beloved husband of the late Jeannie (Torregrossa) Hubbs, with whom he shared 53 years of devoted marriage, building a life grounded in love, family, and shared adventure.
Bruce proudly served his country in the U.S. Army Signal Corp. from 1966 to 1967 as a Communication Specialist, serving one year in Vietnam, a chapter of his life he held with great pride. Following his service, he spent 50+ years working as a Quality Consultant for RR Donnelley and LSC Communications, where he was respected for his dedication and integrity. After Bruce’s retirement he became a cherished support staff member serving families at the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Homes & Crematory.
A man of many passions, Bruce found joy in traveling the world, tending to his landscaping, and expressing his creativity through painting and collecting clocks. He was a faithful and long-time member of the Red Rose Honor Guard, where he also served as a past treasurer. Bruce was also a member of St. John Neuman R.C. Church and a member of The Lancaster Italian Cultural Society. Whether watching Jeopardy, enjoying a scoop of ice cream, or sharing a smile with those around him, Bruce had a special way of brightening every room he entered.
Above all, Bruce was a family man. He is survived by his loving children: Matthew Hubbs, husband of Kim, of Duxbury, MA; Michele Consylman, wife of Craig, of Cornwall; and Dr. Christopher Hubbs,
of Lancaster. He was a proud grandfather to Audrey, Victoria, Britny, LiErin, Rachel, Bruce Robert, and Jaden, and a cherished great-grandfather to Vivian, Leo, Julian, and Elias. Bruce is also survived by his sister, Sandra Young.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Bruce’s memory may be made to Water Street Mission at www.wsm.org.
