Candace “Candie” Joy Trimble, 70
October 02, 2024
Candace “Candie” Joy Trimble, 70, of Lancaster, passed away peacefully on October 2, 2024. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Alice “Sally” (Rohrer) Liller.
Candie, a woman of strong faith, was a graduate of Manheim Township High School. She had a strong work ethic which led to a long and successful career in hospitality, spending over 30 years at the Eden Resort Inn.
Candie had a passion for modeling, writing and traveling in her earlier years and a deep appreciation for nature throughout her life – she loved spending time gardening and enjoying the serenity of nature. Her connection to the earth was evident in her gentle spirit and her respect for all living things. As an avid animal lover, her home was always filled with, and surrounded by, the love and companionship of her furry friends.
A devoted mother, Candie nurtured her children with unconditional love and encouragement – her selflessness and dedication to her family was inspiring. Her compassionate heart and unwavering support also made her a cherished friend. She had a unique ability to make others feel loved, valued, and understood, and she was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need.
Candie is survived by her two children: William “Billy” Trimble, III and Alice (Trimble) Sugarman (son-in-law Mathew); a grandson due in October, and her brother Steve Liller (sister-in-law Janet Zook). Her memory will live on in the hearts of all those who were fortunate enough to know her.
Services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider memorial contributions in Candie’s name to Lancaster Farm Sanctuary.

I was heartbroken to hear about the passing of Candie. She truly embodied the spirit of selflessness, always putting others before themselves and making a positive impact on everyone they met including her children and cats! Her kindness and generosity will be deeply missed.
I first met Candie working with her at the Eden Resort as a bartender. She was an amazing mother and bartender. 20 years later and I’ve never worked with anyone else at her level. I am so lucky to have crossed paths with her in life and probably would not be where I am today without her. I miss you lady!!!
Please know that my thoughts are with you during this difficult time. If there’s anything I can do to support you, don’t hesitate to reach out.
With heartfelt sympathy,
Brad.

My sister, Lynne, Candie, and myself were all roommates in the 70s on Jeffcott Street in Fort Myers Florida. I loved the tribute that was written here about her. It’s so true. One of my favorite stories was when Candie was going away for a period of time we had about an hour session where she introduced me to all the plants that I was to take care of. You can’t imagine the details of who liked to be misted and who did not. Why it’s important that this plant was next to this plant and so on. They were her people, her family. I just adored her and I treasured the time that I was able to get to know her. I’m so sorry to her family and her friends that will be missing her. I can definitely imagine the void. I hope that with all those great memories of her warmth and love for nature that you will see her in those many things and feel her love. May God bless you all and rest in peace dear Candie. I got the honor to work along side Candie many times during a variety of banquets at the Eden. Although it’s been 20 years ago, I will always remember her upbeat personality, her hugs, her contagious laugh and advice when she gave it. My thoughts and prayers go to her kids; as she spoke of them often. Until I see you again! Rest in peace- Chrissy Rice

Dear, sweet Candie… words are hard to find at a time like this.i worked with Candie for 8 years at the Eden, and few people could make guests feel special like she could. Her love for her children was all consuming, and she always had a great Billy or Alice story for all of us. Being a grandmother would have been the punnacle of all joy for her, and that is what breaks my heart above all else. Billy & Alice, I loved your mom to pieces, and know that if you ever want to come to Cape May and stay in my home ( I have a great guest suite with a separate entrance) know that you’re welcome always. I have thought of you kids often over the years. Hugs to you both. I recently lost my mom, and my heart is open to you now and always. -mb
