Carl was a kind, gentle and friendly man, a patriot who was quietly proud of his service to his country. Carl cared deeply about other people in his community. He was curious about construction and the mechanical aspects of the various building projects at Woodcrest Villa and Mennonite Home. Carl greatly appreciated his role as one of the original residents of the BlueBird 5th floor, lovingly characterized as the penthouse. He enjoyed welcoming new residents into that tight-knit group. He will be missed by many residents and staff members. Rest in Peace, dear generous brother-in-Christ!

Dear Loved Ones, I first met Carl at Hamilton Park Church . He was always a great help to me when I was sexton of the church. He had much knowledge of the church facilities and was always willing to lend a helping hand. I know the church will grieve him, and I particularly will miss his smile and friendly personality. Our prayer group at HPUCC and I will lift Carl and his family up when we meet this week. You have our sympathy and prayers.

I never met any of Carl’s nieces or nephews so wanted them to know that I will miss Carl’s smiling face and gentle nature here on the 5th floor of Woodcrest where we both lived. Carl was always will to help out anyone who needed it. He was a real gentleman, always courteous and respectful. I last saw him when I visited him in his room at the Mennonite Home. We had a pleasant time together and I am so glad I saw him and had conversation with him then as he died soon after. I trust you will miss him as much as the people here on BB5 will. Bless you all.
