Carol A. Malek, 81
March 18, 2024
Carol A. Malek 81, of Columbia, passed away peacefully on March 18, 2024, She was born to the late William and Josephine Kern in Jamaica, New York, where she spent her early years. Carol served as a bartender at the VFW in Mt. Joy for many years.
One of Carol’s greatest passions in life was her love for animals, particularly her beloved dogs. She was a fervent supporter of the local humane society, always eager to lend a helping hand to animals in need.
An adventurous spirit, Carol found joy in traveling and exploring new places. She shared countless memories with her beloved husband, Theodore, journeying to Atlantic City, Las Vegas, and the Bahamas. Whether lounging by the beach or enjoying the excitement of the casino floor, Carol cherished every moment.
In addition to her husband, Theodore, Carol is survived by her sons Brian Malek and James McGarry, along with their spouses and her sister, Shirley Searight, wife of Paul. She also leaves behind three cherished grandchildren who brought joy to her life.
Carol is preceded in death by her parents, William and Josephine Kern, her siblings June Paculli and Jerome Kern, and her son, William J. McGarry. While she will be deeply missed by all who knew her, Carol’s memory will live on in the hearts of those she loved and touched throughout her lifetime.
