Carol A. Sullivan, 81
October 14, 1942 - August 07, 2024
With heavy hearts the family of Carol A. Sullivan wish to announce her passing on August 7, 2024, at Moravian Manor. Born in Lancaster on October 14, 1942, she was the eldest daughter of Charles and Margaret Horn Sullivan.
Carol was a pillar of her community. Regularly walking through the city for work, neighborhood tours, or running errands, she could talk to anyone and never met a stranger. Following her retirement from Bell Telephone/AT&T, she worked for Barnes and Noble hosting mystery book groups and Harry Potter releases. Carol will be remembered as a historian and docent at James Buchanan’s home, Wheatland, for over 25 years. As an avid reader, her love of learning and history blossomed into traveling the world with many friends.
Her memory will live on in her niece, Carol Cook; nephew John Cook, husband of Julie, and their son Jonathan Cook. Carol was preceded in passing by her parents, and a sister, Marguerite “Betty” E. Cook, wife of Robert Cook.
A graveside service honoring Carol’s memory will be held on Saturday, August 17, 2024, at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Lancaster. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.

You touched my life in so many ways. Oh, the laughs we had. Ice cream for breakfast! I will always remember you

The smile in the picture is the one I remember from our days at B&N. She always brought happiness to anyone she was around.

To the Sullivan Family,
I was so sorry to read of Carol’s passing. Carol was a year ahead of me in school, but we were good friends at the time. We had a lot of laughs together. She was one of the kindest people I knew. My prayers go out to you and the entire Sullivan family.
