Carroll W. Heisey, 87

Carroll W. Heisey, 87, of Lancaster, died Monday, March 7, 2011 at Lancaster General Hospital.  Born in Dillsburg, Carroll was the son of the late Joseph Henry and Esther B. (Baker) Heisey.  He was married to the late Mary E. (Guise) Heisey, who died in 2009.

Carroll graduated from F&M College in 1951 with a degree in business administration.  He served as Tec 5 in the US Army during World War II, South Pacific theatre of operations, stationed in New Caledonia.

Carroll retired from Lancaster Newspapers Inc. after 32 years of employment in the circulation department.

A 50+ year member of Ross Street United Methodist Church, Carroll sang in the church choir for many years, and was a member of the Methodist Men.

He was an avid Phillies fan.

Carroll is survived by his children, Theodore W. Heisey, husband of Sandra, of Lancaster, Pamela A. Heisey, of Lancaster, and Jennifer L., wife of Raymond C. Weitzel, of Reinholds, grandchildren, Abigail E. Heisey, Andrew C. Weitzel, husband of Nichole, Jonathan B. and Christopher S. Weitzel.  In addition to his wife and parents, Carroll was preceded in death by his brother, John W. Heisey.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday, March 10, 2011 at 11 AM at Ross Street United Methodist Church, 312 E. Ross St., Lancaster, PA 17603, with Rev. Roseann M. Goldberg officiating.  A viewing will be held at the church from 10 until 11 AM. Military honors at the church will be provided by Red Rose Honor Guard. Interment will take place in Sunnyside Cemetery, York Springs, PA.  Flowers will be received or contributions in Carroll’s memory may be made to Ross St. United Methodist Church.
