Catherine S. “Kitty” Wagner, 94, of Luther Acres, Lititz, formerly of St. John Herr’s Estate, Columbia, and Pearl St., Lancaster, passed away on Saturday, June 25, 2016. Born November 5, 1921 in Lancaster, PA to the late Abram T. Sangrey & Elizabeth (Thatcher). She was preceded in death by her husband, Chester E. Wagner, in 1965.
She was a member of Lampeter United Methodist Church. Kitty enjoyed church outings, especially volunteering at the annual Christmas Bazaar.
Kitty as her friends called her enjoyed delivering Meals on Wheels with her sister Florence, needle point, crocheting, playing bingo, cards, and traveling. She always looked forward to her senior bus trips. She was very committed to her family, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Kitty worked at Lancaster Brass Works, the former Gundel Funeral Home, and retired from Datcon Instruments.
She is survived by son Kenneth, husband of Magdalena Wagner of Landisville, PA; granddaughters Melissa wife of Joel Troutman, Mountville PA, Laura wife of Tim Reichard, Lebanon, PA, step grandson John husband of Jennifer Butt, Lancaster PA. She is survived by a sister Florence wife of late Roy Gerlach, Columbia, PA, sister in law Myrtle wife of late Melvin Sangrey, Quarryville, PA, brother Richard husband of Dottie Sangrey, Lancaster, PA, brother Leroy husband of Gloria Sangrey, Lancaster, PA and Jay husband of Sharon Sangrey, Millersville, PA. Great-granddaughters, Brittany, Brook, Brandy, Kierstin, Kaitlin, and Sarah and Great-grandsons Zackery, Zeppelin, and Zepp, great great-granddaughters Kaydence and Madison and a great great-grandson Matthew.
Catherine was preceded in death by two sons, Jeffrey and Timothy, and daughter in law Kathy, brother Melvin Sangrey and brother in law Roy Gerlach.
Funeral Services will be Celebrated on Thursday, June 30th, 2016 at 11AM in the Chapel at the Charles F. Snyder, Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory 3110 Lititz Pike with Chaplain Walt Cleckley officating. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the funeral. Catherine will be laid to rest next to her husband in the Millersville Mennonite Cemetery.
