Charles W. Sherr, 95

Charles W. Sherr, 95, passed away at Lancashire Hall on Thursday, February 8, 2017. He was born in Strasburg, PA on November 20, 1921 to the late Adam and Dollie (Kline) Sherr. His wife of 65 years, Dora J. (Consoli) Sherr, died November 9, 2011.
He served as Private with the 786th Technical School Squadron (SP) Army Air Force during World War II, stationed at Fort Dix, NJ refueling airplanes. Charles was a tool and die maker for K-D Tool for 3 years and he worked part time for Walter Pietsch. Charles last worked as a pure pack operator for Pensupreme Dairies and retired after 40 years of service.
Charles enjoyed boating and water skiing, travel and camping and astronomy. He also liked to watch Sci-Fi movies, bicycling and tinkering with electronics. He was a shortwave radio operator. Charles enjoyed all sorts of chocolate confectionery treats. He listened to country music, including Patsy Cline, Tammy Wynette and Elvis. Charles attended Wesley United Methodist Church in Strasburg with his parents while growing up.
Surviving Charles are his two daughters, Victoria A. Sherr of Lancaster, PA and Sandra J. Hare, wife of Paul H. Przygocki of Frederick, MD and his grandson Steven C. Hare of Frederick, MD. The last of his immediate family, Charles was preceded in death by his siblings Lester, Helena and Mary.

Uncle Charles, I am so sad to hear we have lost you. I was planning to pick-up a lemon pie for us to enjoy together this week. I think it is/was both our favorite dessert.
