Charlotte (Heck) Sears, 96

January 18, 2025

Charlotte (Heck) Sears passed away peacefully on January 18, 2025 at Luther Acres. She was known by many as a local antique dealer with shops formerly in Lititz.

Charlotte was born on May 31, 1928 in Bethlehem, PA to John and Charlotte Collins. She grew up in Bethlehem, graduated from Chestnut Hill College, and married Guy Heck in 1950. As Guy’s career advanced, the family relocated numerous times to multiple states, eventually settling in Lancaster. After Guy’s death in 1980, Charlotte was married to Richard Sears until 1997.

Surviving are the Heck children – Jeffrey of Coopersburg, David (Lisa) of Lancaster, Marsha (John Shirk) of Lititz, Fred (Diane) of Placida Florida, and John of Tamaqua – nine grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.

Charlotte was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a passionate collector of art and antiques who also enjoyed traveling, reading and opera. Those closest to Charlotte attest to her wit, wisdom, and resilience, which she built into her family.

The family would like to thank Luther Acres and Masonic Village Hospice for their excellent care of Charlotte. Services will be private.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests you make a donation in Charlotte’s memory to Luthercare Caring Fund or the American Brain Foundation.

Very sorry to read of the passing of Charlotte Heck Sears.  I enjoyed shopping at her amazing antique shop in Lititz and still have those items many years later.  I was able to learn the history of where she found the jewelry, and she loved discussing it on subsequent visits.   She will always be remembered!
