Christopher F. Elbert, 64, of Lancaster, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, friend, passed away Tuesday Sep. 24 of natural causes.
Born in Lancaster, to Anne (Haines) and William Elbert Jr., he was the oldest of four children. He graduated from Lancaster Catholic High School in 1978.
During high school he started working for NCS.
Chris married Mary (Bucks) May 1, 1993. His wife, children and grandchildren were the center of his life.
He enjoyed dogs, riding his motorcycle, rock ‘n’ roll, canoeing, fishing, archery and hunting. He was skilled chess player and an avid photographer. He had a “mountain man” persona. Chris was lifelong reader of science fiction novels. In recent years, he spent time on the pistol range.
The spark of creativity lived in his soul. He was always ready to try something new or take a new approach to solving problems.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children Jared Elbert of Lancaster; Megan Elbert and partner Jason Horn of Raleigh NC; and Kyle Phillips married to Heather; grandchildren Elliot, Mara, Gannen and Thora Elbert, Hattie Horn, and Reece; brother Greg Elbert of Tres Piedras NM; sisters Maureen Beiler married to Wayne of Lancaster; and Monica Elbert of Lancaster; brothers-in-law Rod Bucks married to Teri of Howard PA; and David Bucks of York; aunt Agnes Haines of Lancaster; ex-wife Darlene (Phillips) Stoy; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Family will receive friends at Charles Snyder Funeral Home, 441 N George St, Millersville, PA 17551, on Monday, September 30, 2024 from 3pm to 4pm with a celebration of life to begin at 4pm.

Chris was truly one of a kind and he had a heart of gold. His life gave us memories too beautiful to forget.
