Cory T. Shoemaker, 47

Cory T. Shoemaker, 47, of Lancaster, died Monday August 18, 2014, at Lancaster General Hospital following an accident. Born in Elmira, NY, and raised in Albany, GA, he was the son of Arthur C. and Patricia (Corey) Shoemaker.
He graduated from Paul Anderson High School in Vidalia, GA, and served in the US Navy. An excellent craftsman, he was a subcontractor for various local construction companies. Cory was an avid NY Giants and Mets fan. He enjoyed working out, fishing, boating, football and bonfires.
Cory is survived by his parents Arthur and Patricia Shoemaker, his children Amanda Dinniny, Cody Shoemaker and Rhyane Darrow; 2 grandchildren; his sisters Lugene McCartney, Shannon Kresge and Carrie Labiak; and his life companion Terry Albright and best friend Beeper Slaymaker.
A Celebration of Cory’s Life will be held Friday, August 22, 2014, from 4 pm until ?, at his sister Shannon’s home, 1355 Penn Grant Road, Lancaster, PA 17602. Memorial contributions may be made to Gift of Life, 401 N. 3rd St., Philadelphia, PA 19123.

It’s taken me over a month to write this. i have been hit hard with this. Corey was my best friend, my brother, my so called twin. I feel so lost without him. I want to thank everyone who came on Friday to his service. We appreciate it.

RIP Corey. This news broke my heart. I pray that everyone you are close to and all of your family can get through this tragic ordeal. You will be missed by so many. I am so sorry for the loss of such an ambitious, do anything for any one, kind of guy. I am glad Beeper introduced us and I Got to know what a stand up guy you were. Much love to all the family. No! Not Shoe! It still doesn’t seem real! I’m so sorry for the loss of Cory. Thoughts and prayers are with the family. Stay strong Shannon & Carie. He’s still with you, just in spirit.
