David M. Troup, 77

David M. Troup, 77, of Calvary Homes, Lancaster, PA passed away on Friday, September 15th at Hospice and Community Care in Mt. Joy following a courageous seven-year battle with cancer.
A common man who loved life. He was the loving husband of Betty M. (Eskildsen) Troup and the son of the late Leslie M. and Marian A. Troup of Mechanicsburg, PA. Dave and Betty were married for 32 years. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a step-son, Todd G. Ogden of Chambersburg, PA ; a granddaughter, Amanda M. Ogden of Mechanicsburg, PA and also by close family members: Jason and Kristy Kunselman of Mechanicsburg, PA.
Dave asks family, friends and co-workers to remember all the wonderful memories they have of being together throughout the years. “The business of life is the acquisition of memories.”
Dave graduated from Shippensburg State College, served with pride in the US Navy, taught school, received an Outstanding Young Men of America Award and enjoyed 45 years in the Human Resource field. He retired from the Shop-Vac Corporation of Williamsport, PA. He was a fan of Penn State football for over 60 years.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at Calvary Homes, Lancaster, PA, Saturday, September 30, 2017 at 11AM. Friends and family will be received from 10AM to 11AM. A private interment will be held at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.

MaryAnn and I offer our sadist sympathy to you, Betty, and the family on the passing of Dave. We have known Dave from the early 70s when we both worked bfor Mars. Dave became a life long friend. He will be greatly missed.

My deepest sympathy to the family. He was one of the nicest people I knew and had a great sense of humor. I worked with him at Shop Vac for about 5 years. You will be truly missed Mr. Dave Troup. Heaven is getting a good man.
