Debbie J. Scheid, 69
April 20, 2025
Debbie J. Scheid, 69, of Lancaster, passed away on Sunday, April 20, 2025, at Hospice & Community Care in Mount Joy surrounded by her family and friends.
Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late William C. Isett and Eleanora M. (Geigh). She was the wife of James “Jim” T. Scheid.
Before retiring in 2007, Debbie worked in production at Y & S Candies. She was a fighter throughout her life, known for her determination and a bit of stubbornness that only made her more endearing to those who knew her well. She found joy in the simple things—spending time camping, taking trips to Myrtle Beach, and surrounding herself with the things she loved most. She had a deep affection for Teddy Bears and kept a collection of them. Her beloved dog, Axel, was her loyal companion and held a special place in her heart. Debbie was also a NASCAR fan and cheered passionately for the Chicago Bears.
She is survived by her husband; her daughters, Tabatha (Stephen) Isett and Candi Isett; her sisters, Joyce Christ and Linda Herr; her grandchildren, Ryan, Brendan, Kyle, and Ashlynn; her great-grandchildren, CharleeGrace, Thomas, and Benjamin; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Sharon “Cookie” Wettig.
Friends and family will be received from 6pm to 8pm on Friday, April 25, 2025, and again from 10am to 11am on Saturday, April 26, 2025, both at Charles F. Snyder III Funeral Home & Crematory, 2421Willow Street Pike, Willow Street, PA 17584. A Funeral Service will follow beginning at 11am on Saturday, April 26, 2025. Interment will take place in Riverview Burial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Debbie’s name to the Lancaster Cancer Center at www.lancastercancercenter.com or to Hospice & Community Care at www.hospiceandcommunitycare.org.
