Deborah Susan Koshuta, 59
March 13, 2016
Deborah Susan Koshuta, 59, of Willow Street, PA passed away Sunday, March 13, 2016 at Hospice & Community Care in Mount Joy, PA after a short courageous battle with cancer. She was the wife of John “Mike” Koshuta to whom she was married for 37 years.
Born in Pittsburgh, PA she was a daughter of the late Albert and Joyce (Kirby) Oswalt. Deb was a graduate of Penn State University where she earned her degree in Forestry. She worked out of her home providing child care for over 25 years to many local families and loved gardening and had quite the “green thumb” for growing flowers and vegetables. Deb was a selfless wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend and always put others needs before her own. Family was very important to her along with her daycare children and their families. Deb was a great cook and known for her homemade spaghetti sauce from her home grown tomatoes, Swiss steak, stuffed peppers, pretzel salad and candied sweet potatoes. She was an avid animal lover and enjoyed watching birds, eagles and hawks near her home. She was a member of St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church. Deb was an avid Pittsburgh Steeler fan and will be sorely missed by her entire family.
In addition to her husband Mike she is survived by her sons Captain Jon Koshuta, USMC and wife SSgt Bethany, USMC; LCpl Jeffrey Koshuta, USMC; two daughters Sandra wife of CS1 Raymond Heiber, USN and April Koshuta; three grandchildren Jon Mychal and Anika Koshuta and Raymond Heiber; a brother Michael Oswalt husband of Noreen, a sister Sharon Larkin and a brother Timothy Oswalt husband of Leslie; 10 nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, March 18, 2016 at 11AM from St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church, 2111 Millersville Pike Lancaster, PA 17603 with Fr. Lawrence Sherdel as Celebrant.
