Dolly T. Gainer, 82
November 20, 2024
Dolly T. Gainer, age 82, of Lititz, received the greatest birthday gift in meeting her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, face to face on November 20, 2024. Born in New Providence, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Janet (Wilfong) Swinehart. She was the devoted and cherished wife of 62 years to Wendell S. Gainer, Sr.
A devoted Christian, Dolly’s love for Jesus Christ shone brightly throughout her life. Through the strength given to her by her Lord and Savior, she was diagnosed with cancer and won her battle, being diagnosed cancer free in February of 2020. Dolly’s natural culinary talent and skills were a marvel to all who had the privilege of eating one of her delectable meals, particularly delighting all who tasted her sandtart cookies and Pennsylvania Dutch dishes. Her selflessness, a cornerstone of her being, led her to consistently prioritize the needs of others. A dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she poured her boundless love and care into her family, leaving behind a legacy of compassion and unwavering devotion.
In addition to her beloved husband, Wendell of Lititz, Dolly is survived by her sons: Wendell S. Gainer, Jr. (husband of Linh Chau) of Mechanicsburg and William S. Gainer (husband of Tiffny A. Gainer) of Lititz; her grandchildren: Matthew S. Gainer, Emma Belle Gainer and Jack W. Gainer and one great granddaughter: Izzabelle C. Gainer.
In addition to her parents, Dolly is preceded in death by her siblings: Howard Swinehart, Ruth Sangrey and Gerald Swinehart.
In honoring her life, the family will hold services privately.
