Donald L. Mowery, aged 69, of Millersville, passed away at the Legend of Lancaster on Thursday, May 2, 2024. He was born in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, to the late Carl A. Mowery, Sr. and Evelyn (Lefever) Mowery.

Donald, known affectionately as Donnie, worked at Yellow Freight as a dock worker for many years. He was an avid golfer who found joy and relaxation on the green, and his passion for cars was evident to all who knew him. Donnie especially loved hosting get-togethers and pool parties for family and friends. He delighted in being surrounded by those he loved. Yet, above all else, Donnie – known as Pappy to his grandchildren – treasured his role as a grandfather and cherished every moment spent with his grandchildren.

Donnie is survived by his beloved wife, Connie L. (Herman) Mowery of Millersville, and his children: Billy L. Mowery of Mountville, Robert K. Mowery (husband of Kimberly) of Landisville, Donald M. Mowery (husband of Gail) of Millersville, Richard W. Wissler, Jr. (husband of Tanya) of Willow Street, and Michelle L. Barshinger (wife of Jeffrey) of York. Donnie leaves behind 16 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren, who will always hold him close in their hearts. Donnie is also survived by his sister, Robin S. Shultz (wife of Brian), and sister-in-law, Kimberly J. Mowery.

In addition to his parents, Donnie was preceded in death by his brothers, Carl A. Mowery, Jr. and Michael J. Mowery.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home, 441 N George St, Millersville, PA 17551, on Friday, May 10, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A memorial service honoring Donnie’s life will commence at 11:00 AM.
